Teacher listings are linked directly to the teacher's private website, or a profile page is created for them (if purchased). NYSTA actively encourages sound vocal pedagogy based upon the best known scientific and artistic principles. All NYSTA member teachers, coaches and associates agree to a professional code of ethics. To assist prospective students in identifying the right teacher and/or coach for them, each NYSTA member's level of membership is indicated as follows:

STM - Singing Teacher Member, a technical voice teacher who may or may not also coach repertoire from a dramatic and/or musical point of view.

ASSOC - Associate Member, a coach who works dramatically and/or musically, but may not be a technical voice teacher. This category also includes singer support professions like Voice Doctors (ENTs), Music Producers, Directors, and Conductors.

APRN - Apprentice Singing Teacher Members, same as Singing Teacher Members, but with less than 5 years teaching experience (these teachers may or may not offer reduced rates for their services)

DVP - indicates the teacher is a NYSTA Distinguished Voice Professional, having completed the Oren L Brown Professional Development Program core curriculum of Vocal Anatomy, Voice Acoustics, Developmental Repertoire, Vocal Health, and Comparative Voice Pedagogy.
