Teaching Philosophy

Vocal technique is about muscle behavior and developing physical knowledge of one's instrument and how to build and align it to allow the singer's emotional and dramatic life to inform on that behavior. Developing technique is about integration of all parts of the singer and the human being behind that singer. Building technique should be about creating the ability to express on a physicality that can be called upon and summoned at will. I teach the complete human being where they are. Each student is unique and I take my responsibility very seriously to help each student find their UNIQUE voice - that voice that is unlike anyone else.

Technique that is physical athletic behavior will allow us to explore the necessary specifics of Legit and Belt technique in theatre music as well as core of sound in opera repertoire for instance.

My goal is to become obsolete! I want to help you find and discover the tools so you can eventually teach yourself and check in occasionally!
