Biography

I am a working professional with over twenty five years of playing principal roles on Broadway (currently Hertz in 'Rock of Ages'), Off Broadway, Nationally and Internationally, having also recorded numerous cast albums. In addition to being a memeber in good standing with NYSTA, I have taught at New York University's CAP 21 and at Carnegie Mellon where I graduated with honors. Commercially I have had an extensive career in voice-overs (NBC, CBS, ESPN,Oxygen Network to name a few) Education: Carnegie-Mellon(honors), UC Berkeley.

Teaching Philosophy

I work with beginners, students in training and working professionals. The focus of vocal training is in these areas:
:-Proper Vocal Technique
:-Vocal Strength
:-Posture and Alignment
:-Proper use of Breath
:-The Most Effective Use of Material

In addition to the proper training of the voice, I also focus on the interpretation of the material, be it for an audition or performance.

Based on my own experience I feel it is of the utmost importance that the student/teacher relationship be one where the student feels relaxed, safe and supported. Beyond one's knowledge of the craft of singing and performing, in a teaching environment, being able to communiacte the experience is essential, and that can only happen when the dynamic is mutually open, receptive, safe and ethically appropriate.

Studio Policy

Half - hour classes are $40
One hour classes are $75
