Currently active as a composer/lyricist in the BMI/Lehman Engel Music Theatre Workshop. MARY FEINSINGER has a Master’s Degree in voice from The Juilliard School. A member of the Extension Division voice faculty of the Mannes College of Music in New York, she was for many years on the piano-accompanying staff at Juilliard. Her recent accomplishments include: music directing the rock-and-roll musical Beehive for the Adirondacks’ Depot Theatre and starring in the Folksbiene production —in Yiddish—of The Pirates of Penzance .
She was co-founder, vocalist, and keyboard artist of the West End Klezmorim, and co-wrote (music and lyrics) and performed in the off-Broadway revue Hot Klezmer.
She has won many awards for her compositions, most recently at the first Out-of-the-Bachs competition for choral music held in Fort Worth, the Diana Barnhart American Song Competition, and the Shalshelet Competition in Washington, D.C. She has been music director or vocal coach for numerous musical productions in New York, including the Folksbiene production of Songs of Paradise
