Ms. Fattore's teaching style is Lamperti (direct line: Lamperti - Moratti- Thiessen -Fattore). Following completion of an opera performance diploma, Ms. Fattore was trained as a vocal pedagogue under the direction of Professor Ena Thiessen, serving as her studio assistant. Maria's approach to the voice include the application of practical exercises from the Lamperti tradition. These physically solidify the concepts described in VOCAL WISDOM.
Students include singers currently working in European and American Opera Houses, Professional Opera Artist Diploma programs, Young Artist Programs, Equity theaters, Cabaret and the Pop Music recording industry. High success rate in teaching "healthy belt" and pop mix, especially to those classically trained.

Teaching Philosophy |
"Consistent voice production is not random. It is a combination of your resonance and breath. Exercises are customized for the student's needs. Progress in singing is achieved only when YOU, the singer, understand YOUR own voice as it relates to YOUR body and thought process.
Most importantly: you must have a gift, be driven and then be lucky! THEN: work hard, play hard. Music should be fun--it's called PLAYING for a reason!"

Studio Policies |
STUDIO locations:
Midtown: Mondays and Tuesdays, by appointment
Astoria (15 minutes from Midtown, near Kaufman Astoria Studios): by appointment only as the schedule allows.
Appointments are scheduled in advance. Usually I schedule 2 weeks in advance. Full hours only.

High School age beginners:
Beginners are only accepted into the studio if willing to commit to a 4 block series. Parental consent is MANDATORY, payment is made in advance.
A Discounted rate are available for prepurchased blocks of 4 lessons, paid IN FULL in advance. Please inquire.
