Teaching Philosophy

I am a vocal technician as well as a musical audition/performance coach. I offer my students a complete comprehensive knowledge of the voice technically in coordination with the artistry of song and performance skills. Laying the foundation of a solid vocal technique includes a keen awareness of your voice, both in speaking and singing. Our work together begins first with an open mind, body and spirit and includes establishing proper posture and alignment; muscles involved in breath management; the function of the larynx; integrating registrations (including mixed belt techniques); tonal focus; understanding and executing proper energy flow in connection with onset and phonation; diction and articulation; acoustics and resonance areas; stylistic interpretation and vocal expression.

All private classes are structured to the needs of the student. I offer a thorough education in all aspects of voice to vocal health and maintenance, music ianship and artistry. I've been teaching for over 25 years and have helped hundreds of singers reach their goals. I invite you to set up a session and sample my teaching and passion for this work.
