Styles Taught

This teacher is a NYSTA Distinguished Voice Professional, having completed the Oren L Brown Professional Development Program core curriculum of Vocal Anatomy, Voice Acoustics, Developmental Repertoire, Vocal Health, and Comparative Voice Pedagogy.

Biography

My voice studio is in Greenwich Village near Washington Square Park, where I teach singing for New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. I have been singing professionally for more than thirty years, and have taught for more than fifteen years. The struggle to understand technique and improve my own singing has taught me to teach. I respect great singing of all styles. The goal of my work is to help singers find more freedom, agility, and expressivity by releasing physical constraints, and to develop the full resonant capability of their voices. I constantly study vocal science and teaching techniques to help me improve my own teaching.

Teaching Philosophy

Studio Policies

I work with all voice types, all styles, and all levels, from professionals to beginners. Lessons consist of exercises to develop technique, and a techincal and dramatic approach to repertory.
