Teaching Philosophy |
"Glenn is able to articulate ways of addressing problems quickly, without being too theoretical. He also understands the performance experience and brings that to his teaching, helping me link my singing to my acting performance. The result is that I feel more solid and comfortable in my own talents and abilities...He's superb" -Matthew Morrison, "GLEE" Fox Televsion; Tony-Award nominee, "THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA" "Glen taught me more in less time than any voice teacher I have had. As someone who is comfortable in opera, pop and musical theater, he knew exactly how to tailor his instructions in clear, specific terms that allowed me to stretch my range, strengthen my sound, and maintain my instrument. He's a beautiful singer and his passion for singing is infectious." -Manoel Felciano, Tony-Award nominee, "SWEENEY TODD" I have worked with many singers and actors including Tony-award nominated performers in productions of SOUTH PACIFIC, SWEENEY TODD, PAL JOEY, SHREK, and THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA. Quite simply, I believe that everyone has the ability to sing. Unfortunately, we find many creative ways to get in our own way through habitual patterns and inefficient ideas about the singing process. I come from a unique background combining singnificant operatic training with a Master's degree in Acting. As with acting, the singing process involves the deep desire to communicate something beyond words. I teach a technique that will enable you to relax your throat, find your breath, and become a singing artist you were meant to be. I also incorporate elements of the Alexander Technique and Yoga. Repetition is the soul of Art! |
