Biography

• TOP SESSION SINGER
• RECORDING ARTIST
• MULTI-PLATINUM SELLING SONGWRITER
• VOICE TEACHER

Dana Calitri is one of the industry’s top professionals. She has worked with Chris Daughtry, Jesse Mccartney, Celine Dion, Marc Anthony, Elton John, and Cher, among others. Dana has appeared on television in shows such as Saturday Night Live, the Rosie O’Donnell Show, Good Morning America and the Today Show and performed in the Miramax movie and soundtrack “Chicago”.

Dana is also one of the most heard voices in television and radio commercials, singing jingles for Dr. Pepper, Coke, Folgers, Pillsbury, and Sears, to name a few.

In 1995 Dana began her career as an artist, writing and recording for Virgin Records and then for Universal. Her love for songwriting eventually led to her first multi-platinum cut with *NSYNC. Dana went on to write songs for other international, plat inum- selling artists like Daughtry, Dream, Jessica Andrews, Play, Donna Summer, Nikki Webster and Christian Bauttista.

Dana’s songs have been featured in movies and television, including “Let it Be Me”, Disney’s “That’s So Raven”, “Summerland”, “Felicity”, “Darcy’s Wildlife”, and HBO’s “Cat House”.

Dana is a graduate of Brown University. She began her formal vocal training at the age of 14 at the Manhattan School of Music. Her private study was under the direction of Lydia Summers, Anne Countryman and Helen Hobbs Jordan.

Dana’s interest in meditation and alternative healing led her to study with sound healing masters Kevin Michael, Fabien Maman, and the Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo. In her teaching she incorporates both traditional vocal technique and sound healing practices.

Because of her extensive work as a recording artist and session singer, Dana! is especially effective with those interested in careers in the pop, rock and r&b fields.

Teaching Philosophy

Applying traditional vocal technique to pop, rock or r&b can be especially challenging to the singer. Many students know how to “sing correctly” in a lesson but are unable to apply it when singing in the studio or with a band. Dana Calitri's students are taught the foundations of healthy technique and how to protect their voices while preserving their own distinctive sound.
