Teaching Philosophy |
"I believe in developing the true artist in every singer. In the first year we improve vocal technique and contemporary repertoire, music theory and performance. At the end of each year we culminate the year in recording a few songs either a cover in a unique style or an original song written by the singer and our team of writers.
In vocal pedagogy, we regard the health of the voice first and foremost, especially for contemporary singers. Laying the foundation of a solid vocal technique including vocal therapy and speech pathology if needed along with developing the ear through musicianship and nurturing artistry through performance and recording all together train the "whole" singer.
The Cole Technique builds the singers’ voice from the foundation up or onto an existing technique. Using alignment, breath and resonance, The Cole Technique reveals the “pure voice” unencumbered by compensatory musc les. Natural resonance, breath control, laryngeal resistance, “building the bridge” and creating a strong, resilient voice are the hallmarks of The Cole Technique. All lessons recorded onto CD.
The Cole Coaching Program develops the singers’ ear and phrasing with techniques like “matrixing”, “marking” and “conducting with an emphasis on phrasing, emotion and individual style. Sessions are held in a digital recording studio with the benefit of today's technology to enhance learning. Phrasing, styling, improvisation, mastery of emotion, passion, delivery and authenticity of sound in performance and recording.
