Teaching Philosophy |
I have many singers come to me from all styles and at all levels that have had vocal training in the past. Quite often their experience was positive and encouraging but still left them at a loss as to how their voice actually works. This means that even after studying with a voice teacher they are not able to overcome many of the big obstacles singers face and in often cases are still having vocal health problems, especially if they are singing high energy music. Where I differ from the ordinary voice teacher is that I teach a very tangible and specific method of voice training that teaches you to identify all of the real pieces that make up your voice. The voice is an acoustic instrument and has its own unique set of parameters that make it tick. After working with me you will have the tools to work through all of the vocal challenges that come your way, be a healthy singer, and be on a path to grow as a singer long after you've finished studying with me.
About the Art of Body Singing
The Art of Body Singing treats the serious student of voice to a meticulous, well organized journey, centered around the mechanics and techniques necessary in high performance singing. Body Singing adheres to the same essentials that any fine instrument-maker swears by: high quality design, high quality materials, and high quality assembly. Thus, the first concept of Body Singing: the voice is an instrument, assembly required. The system offers a methodical approach to vocal training, incorporating both classical and contemporary techniques. It is designed to teach proper vocal hygiene, high performance singing skills, personal style development and a professional outlook for ongoing growth long after leaving the teacher's side.
